Sweet 16

LDC just turned 16 months.

Month 15 was FULL of new experiences and showing off some terrific skills.  Some highlights...

Her first haircut

Being able to now sport the pigtails

Playing the drums by herself-looking tough and all.

Carrying anything with a strap- dog leash, cloth grocery bags, buckle of a shoe, etc.

Less babble and more words in month 15.
Example:
Tela has been gaining weight this January from all the accidents during EVERY meal.
LDC is fond of saying Uh Oh when she "accidentally" drops food on the floor. Followed by the facial expression above.

Lots of coloring.  LOTS.

Multitasking.
And finally, my favorite picture from month 15....
The two of us have spent a gazillion hours in this rocking chair.  My heart melted when I saw the above sight.
She had crawled up in the chair all by herself and was rocking away--with her green pacifier in her mouth, from the day she came home from the hospital.

When your father gets home young lady...

When your father gets home young lady you are going to be

in big trouble...

Just for the record- we are signed up for "Good Behavior" dog classes starting at the end of the month.

After taking this last picture and seeing that sad cute face I quickly put the crime scene back to its original condition.  Shhhh, don't tell Andy.

Alphanumeric Signs for Navigation and Safety

This past July I set out with bug spray, a map and my daughter in a stroller.
Our goal was to explore Hitchcock Woods.
The Aiken urban forest covers 2,100 acres and has almost 70 miles of trails.

Less than 15 minutes into our hike I was already clueless where we were on the map, a sign posted for "quicksand" didn't help comfort me and I was pouring sweat trying to push a stroller on sandy trails.  We turned around and headed home.  We haven't been back...until now.

Christmas weekend 2011

I know, quicksand in Aiken--crazy.

Horses and more horses-which is just kinda different for us.

Tela was LOVING life with all the smells.
They use a drag bag instead of a live animals for the hunt...IF you actually call dogs chasing after a drag bag a hunt. Each their own.

Carriage trail markers ever so often.

Trail markers...
The trail signs are high up on the trees to cater to those on horseback (we are in Aiken).

Yes, Andy had the map but we were still clueless where exactly our location was.
There are a gazillion unmarked trails.

Due to the gazillion unmarked trails, there are frequent markers of different colors, letters and numbers (aka  Alphanumeric Signs for Navigation and Safety)...in case you call in lost to the police.

Sooooooooo

2,085ish more acres of urban forest to go.

Twinkle twinkle

We have been spending the evenings, checking out lots of twinkling lights.

Visiting places in Georgia

and South Carolina.

One of the brightest parts, of our light show trips, has been the joy to watch LDC walk.

I guess I should say that it is a joy now...from what I hear, I am about to have to step up my baby proofing and get ready for a toddler that is about to get into everything and anything.

A trip for 2

Go, go, go.

Granise taught LDC to say a new phrase, while Andy and I were vacationing.

"Go, go, go."

And that pretty much sums up their fun time with each other. Below are all different days with different adventures....
