Great Aunts that are GREAT Aunts

Andy has the MOST loving aunts on Earth.
This past weekend we went to Anniston to visit.
Aunt Bobbie made us feel like we were at a resort all weekend.

Aunt Melanie played and played with LDC. (We can not wait to see
her new house the next time we are in town!)
Aunt Jackie played Peek a Boo and refused to give up on making a sleepy grumpy baby laugh.

Not my idea

I asked Andy to feed LDC last night while I finished something up. I kept hearing hysterical laughter from both and finally went downstairs to see what was going on.

Yes, he was the one who had to give her a bath afterwards.

Trip to the coast

What a joy it always is to hang out with two of my best friends every summer.
Has the tradition been going on for the past 10 years??
First it was Savannah...Jen's little one will be here before we know it.

Then on to Jekyll to see Christy.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful summer afternoon to watch
these two cuties, in the pool.

Until next summer... OR if Hurricane Irene comes your way---come on up.

Clever

We have come to meet many families in our neighborhood.
We usually meet at least one family a week as we are on our evening
stroll and folks will be out in their yard.
In addition, sporadically the door bell will ring and someone will be
welcoming us to the neighborhood. As soon as they
leave I quickly write down their name so I don't forget it.
Last week the Wilson Family gave us the above gift. As my mom would
say...clever, clever, clever.

Up, up and away

I realize that it is not nice to point but it seems to be her "latest thing" along with.....

...and through the woods

The plan was to let LDC crawl around at our campground (A16 Julian Price- Blue Ridge Parkway NC).

Bad plan. We constantly were having to dig out rocks and sticks.

Our campsite was right on the lake so we enjoyed a little bird watching in the evening hours.

Hiking and more hiking. Waterfalls and more waterfalls.

I have never had more "stuff" camping.

My favorite pic from the trip. Andy made the fishing pole from things he found around the campsite. And yes, he caught a fish.

Over the hills...

Our summer family vacation started with a night in Knoxville. We stayed next to the UT campus so had a fun time checking out the parks and brewery.

Then on to Kentucky for LDC to meet her great aunt and uncle and her great grandparents. Lots of loving.
