You got to be you

Wish I could report back that the mermaid has traded a tail for running legs

The head coach was a winner along with all the fathers that stepped in to help out
All was fine
and dandy until they transitioned to a game of tag.

Having kids chase you and tag you  is not a good combo for LDC.
Tears were shed with a whole lotta, "I don't want to play tball"...

Fast Forward a few days later.

I took LDC with me to watch my students play soccer last night.
We snuggled in the bleachers (freezing cold) watching the sunset and the guys go back and forth on the field.
In my mind I came to the conclusion that unless she agrees beforehand, I will not sign my kid up for a sport.  Lesson learned.

"You got your own style, now let it come through.  And remember no matter what, you got to be you."

Babe Ruth

When I told LDC last week that I had signed her up for t-ball
she thought is was h-y-s-t-e-r-i-c-a-l.

"I don't know how to play baseball", she said.
My response, "Your father will teach you".
I clicked some buttons on Amazon.com for a dirt cheap Strawberry Shortcake mitt and purple/pink t-ball set-- Andy was responsible for the rest.
Of course the one day he had off to teach her, it was pouring down rain so we converted the garage into a baseball field.

Give me a S!

My teacher friend Laura spearheaded a fundraiser for Prom...
Faculty vs. Students Basketball Game
Laura requested faculty help--For teachers to play basketball, be a cheerleader, or watch students who would not be in attendance at the game.

I told her to just stick me wherever she needed me.
Flashback to Pep Squad at Broadmoor Middle School
Gracious.
Can't even recall the last time I had a bow in my hair...

The male teachers did a great job beating the male students.
Equally impressive, the women teachers beat the female students.
Realizing how out of shape I am during the half time show.
Our cheerleader pyramid.
Notice the step stool.

Overall a great fundraiser and hysterical time.
