family fun in our neck of the woods

The family gathering included
10 females,
3 males,

and a whole lotta fun in the sun.

Some felt they got too much sun
(uneven application of After Sun Aloe Gel)

while others resembled Casper the Friendly Ghost.

LDC begged for me to order and try out the new (new to us) self sealing water balloons.

Drew, "What's South Carolina's rule about fireworks?"
(our gathering was the week after the 4th)
Andy, "There aren't any."
Right.

Games abounded.

In case your family wants to play this "game"... all is fine and dandy until bathtime. I discovered small rocks littering bathroom floors.

Suggestion: Shake children upside down to make sure all rocks stay outside.

Two last sweet snapshots.

A hike in the woods was the request from the Birthday Boy.

"Smile or I will tickle you".

We did not blaze any new trails but it was blazing HOT.

The norm in Hitchcock Woods...

"does our trail go to the left or right?"

And yet again...

"are we sure this is the right way?"

Hysterical.
I don't think we have ever explored a new trail in Hitchcock with out having to consult the map multiple times.

a glimpse from a few days of camp

only a few supplies were needed daily

you could hear, on Zoom, the kids boys state:

"Ow!"
"Cool.  If you hold two wires together it starts to smoke"
"Is it suppose to spark?"
"I want it to spark.  How did you do it?"
Instructor, "Let's not have it spark or smoke.  Let's all pay attention and follow my instructions".

Hysterical.
