Spring Break in this neck of the woods revolves around Masters week in Augusta.
Thousands and thousands swarm into this area and all the locals rent out their houses and flee.
So where did I flee?
I fled to check out a future cemetery plot.
What,what??
When asked by my colleagues and students what I was doing for spring break I replied, "I am vacationing with my parents, to North Carolina, to see the cemetery they want to be buried in."
Response by many...."Hmm interesting".
LDC and I had a hoot.
We enjoyed
watching a storm march across the sound
birding from rocking chairs
eating fried seafood- no guilt involved
hearing family stories from the ole' days
enjoying an early happy hour and late night cap- no guilt involved, after all it was Spring Break
finding lots of marine life to explore along and under the docks
the list goes on and on (minus the CVS Minute Clinic to confirm that "yes indeed" my kid had a darn ear infection)
From the picture above, it appears as though Wrightsville Beach North Carolina was warm and sunny |
